CONSISTENCY IS KEY!

This month, on social media, you’ll see me discussing script a lot. That’s because you can’t really simply turn on and start shooting videos for your business without a script. Well… you can, but it’s probably not going to come across very well!

So, what happens when you have nailed one script, where do you go from there?

Well, the good news is that once you have learned what the perfect formula for your scripts is, it’s simple to create more. Honestly, it gets easier with each one. Soon, you’ll feel like you’ve been doing it for years!

However, you can’t just do one video, post it and leave it at that. The next thing to consider is your consistency.

BE CONSISTENT TO BE SUCCESSFUL

As great leaders say, consistency is the difference between failure and success. This is true on so many levels with video:

A) You need to post consistently

B) You need to be consistent in what you’re saying

And

C) You need to deliver consistently good quality content

If you don’t bother with any of these things, you’re simply not going to get the results that you need.

PLANNING

To be consistent means planning ahead. I’m sure that you plan other things for your business, so this will make sense to you.

When you sit down to prepare one video script, why not plan the next four? All you need is an idea. If you plan to do more than one at a time, it will help on several levels:

1) It will keep you on track, i.e., consistent

2) It will save you time

3) It will cement the idea in your mind, so that you’ll be subconsciously turning it over and adding weight to that idea

Planning scripts ahead for the month, quarter or even six months provides great consistency. What’s more is that your customers will notice this consistency, which will increase their trust in your brand.

54% of consumers said that they want to see MORE video content from brands, so by being consistent, you are giving your audience what they want.

COMMUNICATING YOUR BRAND VALUES

The other good thing about planning batches of your content is that you’ll quickly identify if you’re doing something different, and whether that is going off-brand.

For instance, you can be consistent with your branding – add a logo to the screen for every video, so your viewers begin to recognise it.

Consistency of messaging – if you’re planning / creating a few scripts at the same time, you can ensure that your messaging is consistent.

Your audience will begin to look forward to your content, which instils a deeper trust. It is vital that you become the trustworthy source in your area, so that you can win clients and ongoing business.

CONSISTENCY BRINGS OUT AUTHENTICITY

I discussed authenticity in this blog that I posted a few months ago. What has authenticity to do with consistency, I hear you ask? Well, much more than you’d think.

When you’re being consistent, your authenticity will show. Viewers can’t really get that from just one video, but when you share value, over and over, keeping your messaging and posting consistent, they can truly see you and your brand shine.

People respond to authenticity, so your consistency once again plays a part.

Take your videos to the next level

If you feel like it’s time to stand out from the crowd with your videos and create the right impression, have a look at the Visibility Matters course I created especially for small business owners like you, which has just launched again.

I look forward to sharing tips on your script, being consistent and much more.
