Is it too late to wish you a happy new year? I’ve been taking things a little more slowly at the start of this year – as I sense many others have too, for a variety of reasons. That doesn’t mean that I’m not powering ahead with plans for my business, and you should be too.

However, I know that’s easier said than done, which is why I thought I would offer my lovely clients and readers a little help to start the year. Maybe you’ve made a content plan? Maybe you’re stuck? Either way, everyone loves some friendly advice, right?

MAKING VIDEOS IN 2022

Video marketing has been growing year on year for the past five years. If we look at the businesses that don’t already use video marketing, 79% of them intend to start in 2022. This puts you in good company if you’re one of them.

Maybe you need ideas? Lucky for you – I’m about to share the best 3 types of video content you can share this year.

1. Q&A Videos

Audiences LOVE a Q&A video. I don’t mean a live Q&A where you’re the host, although those are useful, but one answering a question that your potential clients often ask. Who looks for an FAQ page anymore? It is far more effective to answer these questions on video.

My suggestion would be just one question per video, so you can give a detailed answer. Choose the length – 20, 30 or 60 seconds all work well and provide the answer.

The great thing about this is that you will have content for a few weeks by doing Q&A’s. You can provide a different answer every month, and get around at least 4 – 6 different weeks of content.

95% of viewers said they retain a message better when they’ve seen it on video, so they won’t have to ask again.

Top tip: Add your logo to these videos, so your viewers remember how helpful you are!

2. Testimonials

This one is simple, because you don’t even have to be on camera. Ask your customers to provide 3 – 4 sentences of testimonial on video for you. This is powerful, because your audience is hearing it from a happy customer. It shows that other people are buying from you and are satisfied with your service/product. This helps them identify with your business and gives you extra credibility.

Think of your loyal customers and ask them. You could even set up a fun day of shooting, so you get a few videos done at once. And once again, you have more than one week of video to share.

3. Thank You Videos

This video is to thank your most loyal customers, those who have been spreading the word or attending your events. You get the chance to publicly thank them, which they’ll appreciate, but you also have an opportunity to speak about the next one or link to something else, such as a new product or service, which is a smooth link. It is promotional but it has another objective.

Some other quick tips

Posting consistently is key for 2022. Your competitors will be posting, so you need to stay in the game.
